Flynn sets sights on $50,000 for school closure challenge

Flynn parents and citizens today called on Canberrans to fight for the future of schools and communities by ‘chipping in’ to support an important legal challenge of school closures.

Now for the ‘truth’ about school closures

Canberrans outraged by yesterday’s revelation that schools did not need to close have the opportunity to press the ACT Government to fully account for those closures through legal action in the ACT Supreme Court, announced today by the Flynn Primary School Parents and Citizens Association.

Reports confirm plaque stolen and memorial defaced

The latest reports indicate that the ACT Government has defaced and stolen part of an Australian Government asset namely the John Flynn Memorial from Flynn.

Vandalism of John Flynn memorial: update

The ACT Government has admitted to removing a memorial plaque and concreting over the Flynn name on a National Memorial celebrating the centenary of the birth of the Reverend John Flynn, founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Apparently this is the first time a government has desecrated a National Memorial.

Barr must now restore ‘stolen’ plaque and memorial

Education Minister, Andrew Barr must now return the John Flynn Memorial plaque and restore the entire Memorial promptly or open himself to possible criminal prosecution following revelations in the Canberra Times today that the memorial is a Commonwealth asset.
