People affected or concerned by the closure of Flynn Primary School and community centre now have a brief opportunity to submit a letter to the new Inquiry into ACT school closures.
The Standing Committee on Education, Training and Youth Affairs is seeking submissions by 31 March 2009. Submissions can be less or more than a page. Terms of reference and guidelines for submissions can be found at www.parliament.act.gov.au/committees/index1.asp?committee=117&inquiry=765.
Further information is also available from the Save Our Schools group at: http://soscanberra.com/act-issues.
The Committee prefers to receive submissions by email to: committees@parliament.act.gov.au but says they can also be posted to GPO Box 1020, Canberra ACT 2601.
The Flynn community has been legally challenging the school closure decision since early 2007 and lobbying for re-opening of the school and community centre.
