Flynn seeks immediate halt to ‘illegal’ demolition

The ACT Assembly has been called on to halt internal demolition works at Flynn Primary School following revelations today that the work may be unapproved, in breach of the Heritage Act, and contemptuous of court process.

Development application for Flynn now notified

Almost two weeks after starting demolition at Fynn Primary School, the ACT Government has notified the development application and made the documentation available

‘Authorised heritage vandalism’ – demolition crew caught ‘red handed’ smashing Flynn school

Demolition crews have been caught ‘red-handed’ smashing and pulling down internal walls at the Flynn Primary School over the school holidays without a public development application and while heritage matters concerning the site are before the ACT Supreme Court.

Chief Minister agrees to meet with the Flynn community

Chief minister Jon Stanhope agreed at a recent community meeting to formally meet with Flynn community members to negotiate from the start the community’s proposal for the future use and management of the school.
