A special thanks to all our newsletter distributors and those who have helped out in any way with Flynn Neighbourhood Watch during 2008. We have no meeting in December or January, and our next meeting will be in February.

Community and experts stake heritage claim for Flynn school

Prominent architectural, heritage and cultural organisations have supported a heritage nomination for the Flynn Primary School and grounds. The application was formally accepted by the ACT Heritage Council in April 2007, and it was the first step towards heritage listing of Flynn Primary School, Preschool, health centre and grounds.

Hargreaves supportive of community’s proposal to use Flynn

Minister for TaMS John Hargreaves today reported to the Assembly his support for the John Flynn Community Group’s proposal to use the Flynn school for community use.

This month at the Belconnen Community Council Forum: Adam McEvoy, co-ordinator of the John Flynn Community Group, will present a proposal for community use of the Flynn Primary School, in the event it cannot be used as a school.
