Flynn community groups and architect Enrico Taglietti are hoping to negotiate over coming weeks an agreement to protect heritage and community values at the Flynn Primary School.
More than 600 Flynn residents have signed a petition in support for the community and heritage values embodied in the Flynn school hub.
Two Flynn-based community groups and distinguished architect Enrico Taglietti have launched an appeal against a decision by the ACT Heritage Council not to list Flynn Primary School, Preschool, health centre and grounds on the ACT Heritage Register.
The ACT Heritage Council decided aginst accepting Flynn’s nomination for listing on the ACT Heritage Register. The decision was made in a ameeting on 24 June, 2010. The ACT Heritage Unit advised the John Flynn Community Group in a letter written on 28 June (4 days later). The Flynn P&C has not been formally notified.
